Eating, the Eastie WayJan 28, 2019 Blog Neoscape
The Mark is coming to East Boston, and this collection of new luxury waterfront condos is landing in the middle of a historic neighborhood that’s also home to one of Boston’s most vibrant foodie scenes. East Boston brings together American classics as well as Latin American options and adventurous fusion destinations to give residents of The Mark a host of options for every meal. Some of the city’s best BBQ, pizza, and pasta lives next to take-out tacos, delicious Colombian montanero plates, and exotic dishes like lengua for more adventurous eaters.
And what better way to take advantage of this melting pot than a tasting tour of some of the area’s best restaurants? Thursday, January 24th was the 23rd annual Taste of Eastie at The Hilton at Boston’s Logan Airport, where nearly 30 Eastie restaurants provided their international fare from Latin America, Asia, and more. The event, which also featured live entertainment, a prize raffle, and a cash bar, is a fundraiser for local Eastie charities hosted by East Boston Main Streets, making it a great way for future residents of the Boston luxury condos at The Mark to connect with their new neighborhood.
But the real highlight, of course, was the food, and no Eastie taste testing would be complete without the presence of Rino’s Place. This iconic Italian restaurant, which is ensconced in the heart of East Boston, brought some of its signature dishes to Taste of Eastie, including some of Chef Anthony’s delicious red sauce, ravioli, and thin-cut veal before sampling some of the other wonderful food.
